Office 2010 will be installed at Coleg Sir Gar during August 2011. Systems will also be upgraded to Windows 7. In attional to staff training there are a range of course on www.virtualcollege.ac.uk including BTEC, ECDL and Agored Cymru that will be launched for Office 2010 for September 1st.

For anyone MAC users out there, the Virtual College now offers Microsoft Office 2011 courses too!

During the summer we will launch our Microsoft 2010 units. The latest courses to be updated include Adobe Flash which can now be studied using CS5.5.

New Technology for 2001

Many departments have invested in new technologies during 2011.

Construction have invested in Sony MP3 audio recorders to capture student evidence within an oral format. (£25)

Hair Dressing have purchased Flip Video cameras so that they can both capture student evidence and record lessons. (£80-90)

Hair Dressing, Care, Counselling, Computing & Public Services, Essential Skills and WBQ departments have purchased SMART Response voting systems. (£400-£1000)

Work Based Learning are looking to trial Destiny Pens that will allow assessors to fill in paper forms away from the college, that will appear within EBS within seconds! (£350+)
